The Hardy Group Project Manages Newport Marriott

Newport Marriott has recently undergone a massive redevelopment and transformation in record time, launching a new look that captures the sensory spirit of the city of Newport, Rhode Island.  The Hardy Group was retained as project manager, charged with completing the renovations before the spring travel season.

“After a fast-tracked renovation process, the Newport Marriott debuted within one year of the project kick off,” said Brent Hardy, Director of Development, The Hardy Group. “By compressing the construction into a four-month period, we were able to ensure its transformational redevelopment with hands-on project management, meeting the ownership’s commitment to excellence.”

The massive $35 million renovation involves the introduction of a new Marriott Greatroom lobby and M Club Lounge, flexible meeting spaces on the 2^nd floor, a 58-seat indoor bar, a brand new 98-seat restaurant and all 320 guestrooms and suites.

Malcolm Berg with Florida-based Edge of Architecture Inc. was the designer responsible for the hotel’s redesign. The design is inspired by the local, nautical flavor of the city.
