Project Management
With project management by The Hardy Group and design collaboration with Studio 11 Design, Nashville’s iconic four-star Hutton Hotel was revamped to provide an elevated guest experience like no other. The project encompassed the hotel’s lobby, restaurant, all 250 guestrooms and suites including the addition of a new two-level three-bedroom suite, a new 5,000-square-foot music venue, Analog, and Writers ‘Rooms designed for musicians and their craft.
The hotel’s new signature space, Analog, was constructed from a former parking garage. The 5,000-square foot, 300-person performance space and bar was conceived and developed over a two-year collaboration with Red Light Management. The venue was constructed as a dual-level space designed to provide excellent views from all angles of the room.
The Writers’ Rooms, a pair of accommodations constructed with songwriters in mind, were designed in collaboration with country singer Dierks Bentley and Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic. The two custom rooms—which underscore the hotel’s mission to act as a luxurious collective for aspiring artists to gather, relax and create—are fully equipped with sophisticated sound technology, a private sound booth, and a collection of Martin’s guitars for guests’ enjoyment.
The hotel’s rooms and suites received an overarching soft-goods refresh and the three-bedroom duplex Hutton Suite was added. Designed with visiting musicians and their families in mind, the suite offers guests amenities such as a full kitchen, living areas, floor-to-ceiling windows with east-facing views and bathrooms outfitted with full soaking tubs.
The lobby and restaurant were redesigned with a new feature bar to activate the space and improve the guest experience.
“We were thrilled to work with Carey Watermark’s team—and a group of incredible collaborators from Hutton Hotel to Red Light Management to Studio 11 Design—in transforming this iconic property for its next decade of business,” explains Eric Augur, Senior Project Director at The Hardy Group. “One of our greatest challenges on the project was to construct a venue that allowed for the best music and sound quality, but also contained the sound within the space to prevent disturbance to guest on the floors above.”
