HARDY has Completed the Renovation of 730 Guestrooms and Suites
The authentic and remarkable Hyatt Regency Atlanta, first opened in 1967, has completed its renovation of 730 guestrooms and suites, for an astonishing total of 51 room types. The project was managed by The Hardy Group, with Blur Workshop LLC as the architect and interior design, First Finish as the Contractor, and Rosemont as the Purchasing Agent.
The renovation of the suites and atrium tower guestrooms is the largest update in Atlanta’s convention hotels since the world was hit with the COVID-19 pandemic. With this drastic upgrade, guests can now enjoy upgraded suites with all new soft seating & casegoods. Furthermore, a new feature called “Escape Stations” can be found in every guestroom, where guests can brew their morning coffee, keep their drinks cool in the refrigerator, and make themselves at home. There is a new, colorful touch contributing to the hotel’s aesthetics–the different colored carpets in the guest corridors. Each floor alternates between three colors, and the color transitions are an entertaining and beautiful sight as the guests ride the glass elevators.
Placed in the heart of downtown Atlanta on Peachtree Street, Hyatt Regency Atlanta was the center of attention when it opened 50 years ago as the first atrium hotel in the world. During hectic schedules in a fast-paced city, visitors traveled to find peace in the 22-story atrium, designed by John Portman. It featured a three-story aviary where guests would lounge and enjoy the views of the beautiful birds. This peaceful setting was accompanied by the high-cost glass elevators, which led guests to the breathtaking rotating restaurant located on the roof. Although times have changed during the past few decades, the hotel’s beauty remains the same.
