A Grand Slam Transformation: The Hardy Group Leads Omni San Diego’s Renovation

In partnership with Trinity Investments, The Hardy Group proudly led the comprehensive renovation of the Omni San Diego Hotel, located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter and seamlessly connected to Petco Park. Our work transformed the hotel into a vibrant ballpark-inspired experience, reflecting its unique proximity to the home of the San Diego Padres with thoughtful colors, artwork, and lighting.

The renovation encompassed all 511 guestrooms across 21 floors, including the Jimmy Carter and Tony Gwynn Presidential Suites. On the 6th floor, 10,000-square-foot rooftop pool deck was reimagined, adding the new Tortuga Pool Bar with 90 seats, lighted trellis, outdoor heating, firepits, and 2,000 square feet of adjacent specialty lounges. The 1st-floor lobby underwent a major transformation, featuring the Ace Porter lobby bar, a new exterior patio, and upgraded front desk and seating areas.

The project brought together an exceptional team of consultants: Houston Tyner (Architect of Record, LA office), Jeffrey Beers (Interior Design, Chicago office), Lighting Design Alliance (Lighting, LA office), Yui Design (Food Service, Maryland), and Beyer Brown (Purchasing Agent). The refreshed Omni San Diego celebrated its transformation with a baseball-themed event, highlighting the property’s elevated design and culminating at the stunning new rooftop terrace, Tortuga.
