Shane Campbell, Senior Project Manager
Meet Shane Campbell, a dedicated Senior Project Manager with a passion for DIY projects and traveling to new places!
Q: Where are you from originally?
A: I am originally from Camden, SC.
Q: What hobbies do you enjoy in your free time?
A: In my free time I enjoy bowling, DIY projects, traveling, and playing pool.
Q: What is a fun fact about yourself?
A: I am the only person in my family with no middle name.
Q: How did you find your way into the hospitality/construction industry?
A: During my United States Air Force career, my job was in Financial Management. When I got out of the military, my brother introduced me to the construction world by asking me to look into an available position he knew of for a financial position a General Contractor company had available. During the interview, we never talked about the job and that’s how I knew I had it. I picked up on construction really fast, and here I am today!
Q: Could you recount one of the most meaningful moments you’ve experienced with your team members during your tenure at The Hardy Group?
A: One of the highlights of my tenure at The Hardy Group was completing the renovation of The Westin Atlanta Perimeter North in Atlanta, GA, alongside Nick Opyd and Andy Bush. It was an incredible project to be a part of. During this time, The Hardy Group featured me on LinkedIn in a team member spotlight and the quotes from Andy Bush were extremely meaningful and made me feel proud of the work I did.
Q: What is a personal or professional achievement that profoundly shaped your life or career path?
A: When I began my career in construction, I didn’t have a degree. However, I soon recognized the value of a formal education and decided to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on Project Management. Completing my degree significantly enhanced my professional development and created new opportunities.
Q: How do your personal passions aligns with the work we do at The Hardy Group?
A: I would say the biggest alignment is my passion for DIY projects. When I start a DIY project, I’m driven to understand every detail needed to bring it to life. I approach it strategically, with a strong focus on quality workmanship. This mindset aligns perfectly with our approach at The Hardy Group. For every project, we are deliberate in our planning and committed to delivering excellent results for our clients. Just as I receive compliments from guests on my recent DIY projects, our clients regularly praise our work during weekly meetings for the high-quality outcomes.
Q: Has there been a mentor in your life who significantly influenced your career journey?
A: My first mentor, Brent Kholhede, instilled in me the importance of attention to detail in every aspect of the job. Two other significant mentors in my career, Rick Wiggins and Gerri Porter, were instrumental in shaping who I am today. They taught me how to effectively communicate with all parties involved in a construction project and emphasized the importance of thoroughly understanding the project’s goals.

Teresa Garner, Project Accountant
Meet Teresa Garner, a Project Accountant who is a South Georgia native, an athlete, and adrenaline enthusiast!
Q: Where are you from originally?
A: I was born in South Georgia, where my mother’s family lived while my father served in the Air Force. As a young child, we relocated to Virginia, my father’s home state, where I grew up. After graduating from high school, I returned to South Georgia for college.
Q: What hobbies do you enjoy in your free time?
A: I’ve always been athletic, playing a variety of sports like water skiing, softball, racquetball, and tennis. Due to injuries, I’ve transitioned to less intense sports, and now I enjoy working out at the gym, hiking, and biking. What truly relaxes me daily is cooking. I love experimenting with new recipes and having family over to be the lucky taste testers.
Q: What is a fun fact about yourself?
A: Most people would not guess this, but I am a bit of a thrill seeker. I like the adrenaline rush from doing something a little bit dangerous like zip lining, canopy tree climbing, whitewater rafting, going on a hot air balloon, etc. I’m excited for skydiving to be my next thrill!
Q: How do your personal passions aligns with the work we do at The Hardy Group?
A: I enjoy seeing a project from start to finish, and my position allows me to do just that. There’s always a new project, a new investor in need of accounting support, or a new team to collaborate with. I thrive on working with different professionals and contributing to achieving their goals.
Q: What is a personal or professional achievement that profoundly shaped your life or career path?
A: I had the honor of working with a very talented team lead by Nathan Hall to create what we refer to as a portfolio program. This involved a client that had a need for remodeling of over 70 properties over a three-year period. The accounting perspective for monthly draws and vendor payments was challenging and I am proud of the results HARDY was able to provide. It was so successful that we went on to provide this for another client with well over 100 properties.
Q: Could you recount one of the most meaningful moments you’ve experienced with your team members during your tenure at The Hardy Group?
A: As a Project Accountant, I am fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to work with the majority of HARDY team members at some point. Each person has made me feel respected and valued and it gives me such pleasure to be able to contribute to helping their projects run smoothly. The way everyone here shares the same values of teamwork makes me want to put my best foot forward.
Q: Has there been a mentor in your life who significantly influenced your career journey?
A: I would not say I’ve had a specific career mentor but more that I’ve had excellent examples set for me by my family. Both parents lead by example and expected that whatever we did, we did it to the best of our ability. We were never afraid of hard work and enjoyed the satisfaction of a job well done. My grandfather opened a welding shop in the 1940’s that grew to thriving supply and fabrication business that supported his family of six children. He is an inspiration and I worked part time there while going to college.
Q: How did you find your way into the hospitality/construction industry?
A: I see my career in two phases. My first phase was working 10 years as an Office Manager for an orthopedic surgeon practice in South Georgia. We moved to the Atlanta area for my husband’s job in the mid 1990’s and I took a brief break to settle our family of three children into life here. When the timing was right, I went back to work first for an EIFS supply manufacturer, then an EIFS & stucco subcontractor, moved on to working for a general contractor and finally to The John Hardy Group. I feel my experience in each of these areas gives me a unique perspective on the construction industry.

Q: Has there been a mentor in your life who significantly influenced your career journey?
A: In my college days, my boss and professor taught me how organization and perseverance can accomplish anything, in that case it was an overhaul of the Pittsburgh Zoning Ordinance. I think of her often when I’m trying to work through a tough project.
Q: How did you find your way into the hospitality/construction industry?
A: I began my career as an Architect, so I’ve always been involved with design and construction. My first hospitality project was nearly 20 years ago when I worked on a design for La Quinta in Manhattan that piqued my interest in hospitality.

Rex Morgan, Senior Project Manager
Meet Rex Morgan, an enthusiastic Senior Project Manager with a passion for “Cigar Box Guitars” and a love for spending time with his grandchildren.
Q: Where are you from originally?
A: I was born in Cumberland, WI but grew up in Montrose, MN.
Q: What hobbies do you enjoy in your free time?
A: While Grandchildren are not a hobby, I enjoy spending as much time with them as I can.
Q:What is a fun fact about yourself?
A: During the pandemic I was reading an article on “Cigar Box Guitars”. I found the history of them to be so interesting that I built two acoustics for my Grandsons and one electric for myself.
Q: How do your personal passions aligns with the work we do at The Hardy Group?
A: I approach my personal hobbies with the same mindset I bring to projects: the more planning and attention to detail I invest, the more successful the outcome. I’m always striving to enhance my achievements.
Q: Could you recount one of the most meaningful moments you’ve experienced with your team members during your tenure at The Hardy Group?
A: At last year’s company meeting, I introduced my wife to several team members, and they had nothing but great things to say about me. I’m usually not one to accept praise easily and tend to brush it off. But seeing the pride in my wife’s eyes made me realize that I had finally found my place in a company I’m proud to be part of.
Q: Has there been a mentor in your life who significantly influenced your career journey?
A: My dad has always been my mentor and hero, a true jack of all trades when it came to construction. A key moment for me was when the teacher—my dad—became the student. While working on a project at my house, instead of giving directions, he listened to my suggestions and followed my lead. The most important lesson I learned from him was that no matter how long you’ve been in the business, there’s always something new to learn.
Q: What is a personal or professional achievement that profoundly shaped your life or career path?
A: I took on a small project that others dismissed as a waste of time. That project evolved into a six-year working relationship within the Medical Manufacturing Industry, where I became the go-to person for both large and small projects. No project is too small, and you never know when it might open the door to bigger opportunities.
Q: How did you find your way into the hospitality/construction industry?
A: It happened purely by chance. I answered the office phone one day and spoke with a potential client about a fitness room remodel for the Airport Hilton in Minneapolis. The project went so well, thanks to the great work by my subcontractors and me, that we ended up handling several more projects within the hotel.
