Ground-Up Tower Tops Off at The Ritz Carlton Naples

An iconic and beloved landmark hotel located in Naples, Florida, The Ritz Carlton is undergoing a complete renovation of the existing guestrooms, including the conversion of many single bays to suites. The public areas including the main lobby, mezzanine level, the restaurant, and the spa building are also receiving a upgrade, and a new tower is being built on the property. The 105,000 square foot tower will be LEED Silver and include 14 stories, 74 luxury suite accommodations, a private members lounge, a walkout bar and grill, and an amenity deck, spa, and pool area. HARDY is overseeing the development of the entire project, and together with Cooper Carry as the Architect; Parker-Torres as the interior Designer; PCL Construction Services as the General Contractor; and Benjamin West as the Procurement Firm, the project team will achieve completion in December 2022.

To maintain schedule, PCL Construction has an average of 250 workers on-site each day working a 7-day cycle. At one point, PCL was pouring a new floor every seven to ten days to ensure topping off of the new tower occurred in early March 2022 as scheduled. Due to restrictions under the land deed, the new tower will have multiple bay and bi-level suites making this hotel a truly unique destination.

The hotel, originally built in the 1980’s is situated along Paradise Coast, facing the shimmering ocean and glistening sands of the Gulf of Mexico. Cooper Carry’s design strategy involved the preservation of the hotel’s existing features, such as the high arch windows, in order to maintain the charm and nostalgia of the generations-old hotel. At the same time, the project is undergoing a complete redevelopment of the surrounding area including the addition of new bungalows, cabanas, and an adult pool immediately adjacent to the new pool bar & grille. In addition, the spa building is receiving a complete interior and exterior upgrade to compliment the new and existing towers and surrounding amenities.
